Appreciating the Heroes
The BRAVE Project Visalia aims to honor and appreciate the selflessness and dedication of our local service members who are serving our country both at home and abroad. We believe that there is no better time than the present to celebrate and recognize these inspiring individuals.
Our Story
Our initiative began with the vision of a soldier's mother, who was touched by a similar project in Southern California. She sought permission from the City of Visalia to honor our hometown heroes with banners, and The BRAVE Project was born.
We invite service members and their families to participate in this program by completing the Service Member Application Form, available on our website. Please note that banners must be paid for in full before installation, and family members are responsible for replacement costs should a banner become tattered or faded.
A Tribute
Gary Cole 1950 - 2022
Gary Cole was such a kind hearted individual, who in his retirement found a new calling, recognizing the brave men and women who proudly serve this country. Gary's effect in the community was unmatched, he loved what he did and devoted his time to ensure things were perfect. He loved what he did. it wasn't just the banners, it was the countless relationships that were formed with the families. Gary's genuine love and caring attitude was infectious. He went the extra mile to make sure these families felt comfortable and were attentive to their needs. He was a friend to many, staying in contact with the families and cheering on their accomplishments. He was so proud of what he was able to do for the community and how he could help these families celebrate their loved ones. Gary will be truly missed. He was loved by so many within the community. Dustin Cole, Gary's son will carry on the legacy of The Brave project.

Service persons' banners must be paid for in full before their banner will be installed.
*Service members' families are responsible for replacement costs of their banner if it needs to be replaced after becoming faded or tattered, and the replacement cost is $175*
